The Reiki attunements are the energy alignments a teacher of Reiki gives to a student. In various schools and styles of Reiki the ways these attunements are given vary in approach and methodology. However, irrespective of the differences in the method, in most cases, each attunement activates an ability to use Reiki energy for ones self and others almost immediately
Try to think that the Reiki energy is a radio signal, our body a radio, and the antenna or reciever the bodies energy system.
When a teacher adjusts our antenna (by tuning in our dials or Chackras) we effectivly pick up the 'Reiki station', and as a result, any previous static that was found on our station is removed and a clear reception is found. Thus, the ability to channel Reiki is bestowed.
The actual Reiki attunement is a small ceromony, which creates this alignment. Many attunement procedures make use of symbols perticular to the system, and these are drawn by the teacher into various places of energy flow in the recipients body.
The symbols act like keys, much like opening a door, these symbols open new pathways of energy, which were previously laying dormant, or 'locked up' in the persons system.
